Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke
2.0

This book was a lot better than I expected. I am genuinely shocked at how much I liked it - as many could see from my dislike of it when I first started reading.
I think this book started being bearable when it was obvious that Doria (might misspell some of the names because I did not read this book in English) was added to the story for the purpose of replacing Farid, which I as a reader disliked immensely. I still dislike the very striking line between "good guys" and "bad guys", but in the end, that is my own taste in morally grey protagonists speaking instead of actual care for what this book has to offer. And, credit where credit is due, the line between the two blurs in this book a lot better than it did in the two books which came before it.
Color me impressed, Cornelia Funke, you did it. You made me like a book that I came into with the need to hate.
