I was willing to try to get past the wink-wink-nudge-nudge opening bit talking about the dog in a way that at first made you want to think it was a woman (eye roll) but honestly the dialogue for the phone back and forth with Julian from the department of backstory made me think I would not appreciate this writer's style. 

Maybe it's someone else's jam! But it was not for me. Shout out to my public library for making me feel no remorse about DNFing so early.
