This anthology is a wonderful, life affirming, layered introduction to disabled realities and disability justice. it covers disability in an expansive and holistic way, with lots of different types of pieces by disabled writers, organizers, artists, etc. Some of my favorite essays are:
- Unspeakable Conversations
- I’m Tired of Chasing a Cure
- So. Not. Broken.
- Six Ways of Looking at Crip Time
The challenge I had with this anthology is that there are so many essays and they’re almost all very short, so I sometimes had a hard time sinking into them individually and was left yearning for more depth.
