The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

2.0

rating it lower since i first read it only because of the glaring issues i now have with blue and gansey as characters. both are incredibly static individuals while the former harbors intense internalized misogyny, especially seen through how she treats orla (going on towards the other books, their relationship as well is built in a way i find distasteful and their justification of cheating and treatment of adam is inexcusable).

while the premise is interesting and some characters i have grown to deeply care for, the two main protagonists are too bland and frustrating for me to fully immerse myself in the experience.

ultimately i'm torn between a 2.5 and a 3 star rating.
