Honestly a welcome surprise. Despite being written in the 19th century A Study in Scarlet is incredibly readable and a good time. Despite the occasional joke or comment that shows the age of the book it’s held shockingly well. I was, however, not expecting for it to change into a western love story that boarders on soap opera levels of dramatics halfway through and increasingly focus on Mormon culture. A fun yet very strange ride.
