Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book!

Summary: Kirie is different. She can manipulate and control light, but thanks to her mother, her light has been kept in the shadows her whole life-until now. When Kirie’s abilities are discovered by a group determined to eliminate light from the world, she will have to come out of the shadows and let her light show.

What I loved:
-the history brought into the book and story
-Kirie’s interest in helping others, not hurting them
-Luca/Kirie’s connection
-The light vs dark theme

What I hated:
-Kirie was a bit immature for her age of 17 (calling her mom “mommy” and asking very basic questions)
-French phrases were used but there wasn’t a translation
