another book to teach me that i should stop stalling to read hyped books because they can be truly amazing and i'm just depriving myself of the great experience.

like the romance itself, this book was a slow burn for me because by the 30% i honestly wasn't very interested but THEN oh my god?!?!?! i flew through it. the rest of this book was finished in a single sitting, in just a few hours because i was just so attached to every single one of these characters and i wanted to get every little moment from cliff and michelle.

i have to say, this book tackled the single dad trope so flawlessly. one of my pet peeves with books in this trope is when the kid is just there to be there, almost like a caricature version of a kid to add humor, but we don't get to know them or their personality because it feels like they lack any. emily and britt were totally characters on their own merit, with different personalities between them, having their own plots, struggles. i loved it so much.

in fact, i loved everything about this book. i love michelle, i love cliff, i love britt, i love emily, i love rockett.

and that epilogue? damn i could cry AGAIN just thinking about it. what the most perfect way to wrap it up.

i know i'll be shouting from the rooftops about this book forever on, recommending it to everyone who'll hear it and coming back and back again to reread it. i miss them all already.
