Ok. I know BookTok adored this book. But I just could not understand the hype. I had this book on my want-to-read pile for ages, and when I finally bought it, I was super excited. And it flopped. My main qualm with it was that, although the synopsis explained that there was more to the plot than the romance, it came at about halfway through the book. I also wasn't sold on the silly-group-of-guys-are-obsessed-with-the-FMC. Don't get me wrong, Nate's teammates were pretty fleshed out and had backstories. It's just that every time the teammates were all together, suddenly they turned into cartoon versions of themselves.
So yeah. Clearly not the book for me. If you liked it, good for you! It has some merit. But I don't think it deserves the five stars that people are giving it.

I also hated how
Stassie kept being adamant about how  she wasn't going to be one of those figure skaters than gets pregnant, career fizzles out and has to rely on someone else. She got pissed when anyone so much as assumed that that was in her future. And then, guess what? This happens in the epilogue.
