I liked this, but it was not what I expected! I didn't know anything about this book - picked it up because two besties are reading it and I wanted to join them. I thought this book would be about her story to getting an advanced education and in a way it is but it's really about her journey of self-actualization despite her abusive and manipulative family. I wish that we learned more about her higher education - it felt rushed at times and we always ended up back in Idaho which frustrated me. She kind of was just like "yeah I picked up the textbook and it was hard but then I understood it and wrote the best essay ever written on this subject" like woah okay. I hope her dad and brother are haunted forever. listened to a lot of it. enjoyed!
