Really fascinating to learn about the civil war, which I knew nothing about. And thought provoking about civil war in general - the cost of it and how neighbourhoods try to heal afterwards. I found the tavern very atmospheric and loved the fig tree's perspective.
<Spoiler> I didn't like though the twist that the mum was part of the tree. I'd really bonded with the tree as a character in its own right! </Spoiler>
