i waited for years to read this book because i was so sure that id love it! this is n o t my romance-reading comeback.

honestly it was disappointing and it put me back in the slump i JUST had gotten out of

i struggled with the beginning bc Matt’s pov seemed sexist and the way women were described (especially the main character) was at times just gross and straight-up objectification
and then the “plot-twists” felt forced and all came out of nowhere?
also why is the 15yo child the most mature one and the one solving everything? and one of the “bitchy” characters becoming super nice after all at the end?
most of it just felt fake and grace is the typical “i’m not like other girls” and the love felt forced especially at the end and so so so many things didn’t make sense

SPOILERS:
if he doesn’t respond to the letters after 15 years, what about emailing? you said you googled him. why. not. contact. him. online.
why did he get with elizabeth instead of actually contacting grace if he still loved her?????? she didn’t leave you, you just went no contact on her…. and then got with your work colleague and expected it to be fine?
marr definitely only liked grace bc she’s the only girl who didn’t leave him for a) his brother or b)his best friend/colleague. he “didn’t care about the ones that left him” but we can tell he resent them and that it hurts him a lot. fix your stuff man
