Ah I wanted to love this book but I think I went in with too high expectations. I loved the marine part at the start, the pace in this section was great. However, after that it all became a bit of a slog for me. The progression was too slow, I think you could have lost 100 pages at least and it would have been a much better read for me. That said, the ending did pick it up a bit, a really interesting concept and I do applaud the ideas explored in the book. The execution just didn't hit for me.
