Silent Clarion: The Full Collection by Matthew Graybosch

2.0

I received a copy of this book from the publisher but they didn’t mention that this was only one part of a miniseries nor did they send me copies of the other parts of the book. I don’t even know if this was the first part of this series or not. So needless to say, I was a little disappointed when I got to the end and realized that, JK, there is at least another part.

To be honest, I did find this book interesting and would have enjoyed it more if I had simply been notified that this was part of a miniseries. I even looked at Goodreads before picking the book up and there wasn’t even the usual “click here for the rest of the series link” so I literally did not know that this was a series or the book was split into multiple parts until the very end. I’m still very disappointed.

I’m also under the impression or have a suspicion that there was at least another part before this one because the book sort of plunged in right from the beginning. There was no worldbuilding nor character building – it was more like “bam bam bam” and tons of actions and then suddenly, tune in for the NEXT PART. End of book.

Naomi was an okay character – I just wish there was more world building because I have so many unanswered questions. Why does Naomi have feline characteristics? What does her blood being positive meant? Why are there some people with those types of characteristics? Where did the whole Adversary come from? There was no explanation for a lot of things or maybe there was but in a different part of the book that was missing.

Anyways, overall, it was okay. I doubt I would continue reading the series or whatever it is though. I hate reading things out of order and I have the sinking feeling that I already did so.
