This book was very Ignited-meets-Ondine-Quartet. It had the deep sense of protectiveness coming from the love interest that Nathan from the Ignited series has, while also having the rebellious fire of the protagonist that Kendra from the Ondine Quartet possesses. It had quite the tantalizing effect.

Sara was an interestingly refreshing character for me, in that she already new all about the world that lay hidden in her own. She already had more knowledge about the creatures that go bump in the night than even her own werewolf best friends. It was strangely poetic. I thought she was a very kind-hearted and strong-willed character. When she decided that a course of action was right, she wasted no opportunities to see it through. She is incredibly loyal to those who have earned her trust, yet even that trust has a fine extent. She doesn't give out her good faith lightly and when her world is once again turned upside down, those sworn to protect her will have one heck of a time keeping her close and safe.

I very much enjoyed this book and am anticipating the release of the second book to this series, which is as of yet undecided. And this must have been a truly fantastic read to have been the first book that I was willing to pull an all-nighter for.
