Indira has waited to be selected for her story, she has waited forever in her character-in-waiting town. Finally, when she is selected, some newbie tries to take her place! This turns into a quick arch nemesis scenario, which dogs Indira at every step. Instead of passing the test and being selected for hero training, she is pushed to become a side character. Indira knows that there are some saboteurs around and she is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery.
This was a solid fantasy novel. I enjoyed the characters and story enough to want to read the next book. Young readers will like this novel.
