The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander
5.0
"Seeing race is not the problem. Refusing to care for the people we see is the problem. (...) We should not hope for a colourblind society but instead for a world where we can see each other fully."
5.0 - A fantastically researched and narrated book. The more I learn about the history of race in America, the more I understand the events of the last couple of years and realize how blind I was to its significance and importance.
This is a great work of nonfiction that forced me to analyse my own bias and ignorance, definitely worth listening to.
