This is a very well-written piece of historical fiction. It details the lives of the widows of the men of the resistance, who had participated in a failed attempt to assassinate Hitler during WWII. It highlights the women's experiences, the horrors they endured, and how their lives turned out after the war. An excellent book, but hard to read at times due to the subject matter.
