This was better than the first because: Tella, Jacks. Tella has such main character energy that it’s insane to me that Scarlett is the protagonist of Caraval.
My brain consistently hurts whilst reading these books, trying to decipher what is real and what is part of the game. This would absolutely be a 5 star read for me if I hadn’t read Once Upon A Broken Heart first & now I (kinda) know where the story is going (a bit), but it’s still so good!!! I love being absolutely lost and confused in a magical world w/ these characters.
