All of the Wayfarer books are spectacular, but this one is just...the best. I loved the emphasis on communication, on finding common ground and understanding another being radically different from you, even if you don't agree or can't accept the point of view of another. It's just a book with so much love and I just adore it.

The human presence is minimal in this book, with only one person at the very end and then Pei's thoughts of Ashby. I thought I'd find that off putting or find it hard to get into the characters' minds, but none of that applied.
