In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto
by Michael Pollan
'Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.' Pollan's eminently sensible approach to dieting emerges from an initially scathing diatribe against both the Western diet and the framework of 'nutritionism' which views food as a means of transmitting nutrients, not as a source of health in itself. Thoroughly researched and always engaging. Extra plug for the audiobook - Scott Brick does a phenomenal job bringing Pollan's arguments to a crescendo.
