Tempting Auzed by Victoria Aveline

4.0

Alejandra has demonstrated incredible resilience. Surviving abduction, a near drowning, and being lost in a mysterious forest, she thought her luck was changing when she was rescued by a remarkably intense, grumpy, and irresistibly attractive man. However, things only become more complicated from that point on.

Auzed is on a mission. His task is to locate the missing human and bring her to Tremanta. Finding himself caught in Sauven territory was not part of the plan. Neither was pretending to be the alluring woman's fiancé to shield her from an arranged marriage to a Sauven stranger... yet, here they are.

Initially intended as a charade, their connection soon makes them question if genuine love and a happily ever after is possible for two individuals from different worlds. The question lingers: How far are they willing to go to make it a reality?

“As if his soul recognized he was lost for words, a purr suddenly rumbled through his chest.”

I really wish I loved this one more than I did. Although I had a really great time, it's ranked a bit lower than Choosing Theo and Saving Verakko for me personally. I feel like this one had sooooo much potential but I think it dragged on a lot because they have intimate moments earlier on so there isn't much of a slow burn but it does get a little repetitive and slower toward the middle.

I did enjoy myself and will be continuing on with the series. I really loved the way that these two ended up meeting each other and I enjoyed the change of scenery, even if the aliens here weren't my favorite. I think that Alex and Auzed had a lot of really solid chemistry but it lost a bit of its luster for me personally due to the repetitive nature of this particular story.

- alien romance (humanoid)
- fake engagement
- it gives bodyguard vibes
- grumpy x sunshine
- forced proximity
- fated mates
