How to Grow Old: Ancient Wisdom for the Second Half of Life by Marcus Tullius Cicero

challenging reflective fast-paced

4.0

“death marks either the end of human consciousness or the beginning of eternal bliss”

I appreciate the main idea that we should instill positive lifestyles early on so that we prosper in the second half of our life, but his take on pleasure does not accurately portray many individual’s emotions. Pleasure is one of the most important parts of life, and that should have been recognized more in his objections. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading about how to maintain my body and mind now, so that I can remain happy when I’m older, and embrace the changing times fearlessly.
