Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - Ravenclaw Edition by J.K. Rowling

4.0

Perhaps it was because I already knew what was going to happen, but I did not get the thrill from reading this as I did with the first book. And that’s why I didn’t give it five stars because I think a good book shouldn’t get a bit boring when I read it, even if I do know what is going to happen.

I liked how the golden trio developed more within this book and we got to see a bit more of their personalities - as well as the newest Weasley to arrive at Hogwarts. It was enjoyable to read about The Burrow too and getting to see a bit more of the Weasley family.

This felt like a bit more of a mystery than the first book did; which is good in one sense but also slightly annoying when you know how it ends. Therefore, I probably would’ve enjoyed it a lot more if I did not know what was going to happen.

That isn’t to say it was absolutely horrible and bland and frustrating - because I actually did like reading it and I will be reading the third book in the series.
