Kristen Hannah has a way of creating vivid worlds and emotionally rich characters. I cried a whole lot during this book and it’s another where the characters will stick with me for a long time.
 I disagree with the criticism that the book was too long, I felt like it was just right to get through the story. 
This is a hard read but an excellent one, especially if you have any background in French history.
