OMG Princess Diaries! I used to be obsessed with these books in my early teenage years and absolutely loved Mia and her life as a princess. I was obsessed with Michael, probably was a little in love with him. Silly though it may sound, I really did learn a lot from these books. So when I got my hands on the 11th Princess Diaries book, I was really looking forward to it. Honestly though I was let down. Maybe because I'm all grown up now and have absolutely nothing in common with Mia anymore who is a, for lack of a better word, full blown princess now and not the struggling stumbling mess she was as a teenager that I so identified with and loved. Or maybe I've just become too much of a cynic. Either way it did lose its charm. And Michael, who I was absolutely in love with, is just another guy, nothing special. The book just left me feeling dissatisfied. Maybe I am becoming too much of a cynic.
