Where Am I Now? True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame by Mara Wilson

3.0

A fun read from the woman most known for playing the Faceless Old Woman who Lives in Your Home. Oh, and also every film of my childhood.

Well written stories from an interesting coming-of-age, surprisingly familiar adolescent experiences between film acting and celebrity, and a successful transition to a normal, post-child-actor existence. The largely self-contained essays often touch on the same memories and aspects of her life, but from different angles. The repetitions serve well as a uniting glue, not a nuisance.

Some of the essays are moving, some merely amusing. Definitely fun to hear in the author's voice in audiobook format.
