My thanks to the author for the ARC!

As a baseball fan in mourning whose favorite team was ruined by a money hungry idiot and is in the very long process of moving to another city a state away (iykyk), I very much enjoy returning to Rose City where I like to pretend the universe Kelly Reynolds has created is real, and I have a new favorite team to root for.

That being said, maybe my expectations for this installation in the series were too high after enjoying the first two books. I think the novella format didn't loan itself very well to character development, and the plot felt rushed. The spicy stuff felt even more gratuitous than usual for this genre because it was so present instead of more plot.

Did I still find myself rooting for the characters? Absolutely. Did I thoroughly enjoy the witty banter and charming story? Of course. Will I definitely read the next installment in the series? You bet. Am I done asking myself questions that I immediately answer? Yes, yes I am.
