Anne Of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery

3.0

I read this book as I never completed the series when I was a child. What happened to my beloved Anne who would have defied anyone who tried to make her change?! I understand that at that time many women didn't have careers as we now know them and there is absolutely nothing wrong with staying at home to raise children, but it feels as though the shift in Anne is too much. To have her mocking Diana for being the sweetest little homemaker to end in her becoming the very same felt unauthentic.

I will always to return to the earlier books as they defined my childhood and are my grown up comfort blanket but I think this may be resigned to the bookshelf.
