It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

as an avid reader of dark romance, i’ve always appreciated the triggers that authors lay out for the reader before diving in. even so, not everyone will know exactly what triggers them until they read something that does. i’m a bit disappointed the author didn’t really bother a little to do so, given that some of these subjects can be very sensitive to others. i sort of understand the point across for the author’s intentions but still. many will agree to disagree while others are just solely here to read, just to read. i’ve had this book on my shelf for awhile now but wanted to wait until the hype died down & totally forgot about it til 2 years later. i don’t know if i liked it or hated it but i do know if a book can make readers feel different emotions through out the story then it did its job. at first i liked it & even liked Ryle’s character a lot but then i got mad, then really sad, & yeah, the ending was good cause its what we would have all wanted for lily. the book was packed with emotions is all i can say. I liked that lily’s POV does really shadow the harsh truth of reality. others standing in the outside; most will not understand & almost always judge someone for being too weak to walk away. until you’re a victim yourself or witnessing it close, will you then truly understand why victims can’t or aren’t strong enough to do so. not saying everyone should go through that but it doesn’t hurt to try to be more kind, open minded, understanding & help if possible. i’ll probably read the second book sometimes in the future since i’m pretty sure lily gets her HEA with atlas.
