Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

Oh my goodness.
Let me begin by saying that before picking this book up, I saw it literally everywhere and how highly recommended it was. I didn't even know what the synopsis was before I started reading! So I basically went in blind with good recommendations, so no pressure.

Long story short, I though it was fantastic, a work of pure art, an ode to humanity and what it is to be human in this world.

I oved it right from the beginning, the dialogues were so hilarious and smart. The amount of sarcasm and the fact that the sarcasm was so easily identifiable is just showing how good of a writer and storyteller Frederik Backman is. This was my first book read by him and it didn't disappoint, I want to read everything else he's written and learn about more characters that he has created and fall in love with them like I've fallen in love with all the characters of this book.

The best part was the fact that I didn't see certain things coming, as simple as they were, I thought it was the smartest thing, to play with certain stereotypes and use it to your advantage in this story. It surprised me every time something was against stereotype and I was just there left wondering why the hell I didn't think otherwise.

At the end, this is a story about humanity, life and mistakes we make. How those mistakes stay with us, how we treat others, what we do for them. Being completely human.

This is a beautiful book that everyone must read at least once, and I promise, you'll see things in a different perspective when you're done.
