Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
5.0
OH MY GOODNESS where to even START. Something about the name Rowan gets me every time (as the number 1 Rowan Whitethorn fan of the century) but ROWAN KANE! The restaurant...the back tattoo...this man is perfection while also being (moderately) realistic in his anxieties and insecurities! Another user said "golden retriever energy while also being tall, dark, handsome and Irish with tattoos" and that is the perfect description of this scrumptious chef. I also loved Sloane, who was a bad ass bitch while also being suuuper anxious and fiercely loyal and creative and funny and clever. Also they are Dexter-style serial killers who only kill horrible people. WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE!
I've been NEEDING a fast-paced, sexy romance to get out of a reading slump and boy did this do it. I am frothing at the mouth for Lachlan's romance (another character I LOVED) and I'll be adding some Brynne Weaver to my TBR.
Obviously check the TW, but I don't think this book was particularly intense in terms of the darkness.
