Triptych by Karin Slaughter

2.0

I'm a pretty tolerant reader, or listener. I can put up with some foul language and some violence. This book just was WAYYYYY too much of both. I've read other books by Karen Slaughter ( later works of hers) and all I can say is that she must have toned it down for the Will Trent series after this. If you can tolerate reading or listening to language that comes straight out of jailed inmates and can handle graphic rape scenes, go for it. The plot is good and keeps you wondering but the whole children getting raped and their tongues bitten or cut out and the jail sort of foul language is just not needed and detracts from the decency of the story. She could have written just as compelling a book without all the graphic scenes and more than disgusting language. This is not just an F word here or there. It's the WORST kind of language. I don't recommend it bc there are so many great books out there that don't make you wade through human filth to make their point.
