The Dew Breaker by Edwidge Danticat

3.0

Danticat is an excellent writer, and I really got a sense of place during a specific era in Haiti. However, I think I would have liked this book better if I read it in a couple of sittings. The characters were often not named, and it often took me a while to figure out who they were and how they fit into the story, or even where we were in the story. There was lots of jumping back and forth, which I am usually fine with, but there was a lack of contextual clues when picking up this book after putting it down for a couple of days, so I found myself going back and rereading parts just to figure out what was going on.
