The Troop
by Nick Cutter
HOLY SH*T!
Just when I thought the perfect horror story did not exist… “The Troop” was a great example of a fast paced slow burn. I know that makes no sense, but when you read it it will.
Troop 52 takes their yearly camping trip and it starts out just as every other does. Until there’s an unexpected visitor… Bearing something none of the troop thought possible. This story tells the experience of five fourteen year old boys and their troop master during their stay on Falstaff Island. The story is told from multiple perspectives through the eyes of the kids, as well as scientific reports and newspaper articles, etc. If you think you’re ready for this book, you’re not.
The book was extremely descriptive… in every sense of the word. It is a book about a “bioengineered nightmare” so keep that in mind. There are also descriptive instances of animal abuse.
FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!
