Juniper & Thorn by Ava Reid
5.0
In 2024, I wanted to read more… things I wouldn’t normally pick up. So, taking full advantage of the fact that I have a library card; I packed myself up and wandered the halls for a few hours, throwing myself all the way back to my childhood and how I used to discover new books rather than relying on some algorithm to suggest things to me.
Juniper & Thorn was not something I would normally pick up, but I absolutely could not put it down. This gothic horror retelling of ‘The Juniper Tree’ was stunning. It packed a wonderful punch within its 300-odd pages. Being horrible and horrifying and terribly beautiful all at the same time.
My first 5⭐️ read of the year. Challenge yourself and read outside the norm. Pick this up.
