Wonder Woman Vol. 1: The Lies by Greg Rucka

3.0

I accidentally read these out of order. I read book 2 (which was excellent; [b:Wonder Woman Vol. 2: Year One|35080112|Wonder Woman Vol. 2 Year One|Greg Rucka|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1494146446s/35080112.jpg|52294566]) and then book 3 ([b:Wonder Woman Vol. 3: The Truth|36125199|Wonder Woman Vol. 3 The Truth|Greg Rucka|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1503713772s/36125199.jpg|53943960]...but reading THIS book first is essential to understanding the 3rd book.

Having not read any Wonder Woman comics previous to this Greg Rucka reboot, I found it fascinating how he tried to reclaim the storyline for himself. Wonder Woman was sent from paradise, never to return. NEVER. And yet, in other comics, she's been there multiple times. Rucka explores the thought that maybe Diana never actually DID return.

The artwork wasn't egregious, but it still had a couple issues

This just looked wrong

And does Steve ever pause in the middle of enemy territory during a mission to take a sexy waterfall shower? Because I need pictures of that.

Women AND cats both have nipples. Clearly Cheeta is naked.... really, this is a no-win situation. It's not like I WANT to see her nipples. And shouldn't they have given her 8? Why can't she just have a bit of clothing?
