Maybe reading about cancer patients dying isn’t the healthiest thing while I’m still in recovery. Still, I really enjoyed McCurdy’s spare, straightforward prose and the short vignettes of each chapter, which made the book very digestible while dealing with heavy content and still delivering on emotional oomph.
