This was really good. I don't know why I sound so surprised. I think I expected something else. Or I thought this was a thriller, and it very much was more of a traditional mystery. I want more of Geneva Sweet, though, and I'm *fairly* certain this series isn't going to include more of her.
Intense, sad, not necessarily hopeful but not overwhelmingly despairing. I liked reading about a Black Texas Ranger; that's a take I would not have expected.
Highly recommended for mystery fans, and anyone who is looking for more diversity in the books they read. I will definitely pick up more in this series.
