YES! Yes, yes, yes! I ended up really liking this one. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel by the end of this book because I felt like nothing much happened in the first half, but the second half was addictive and THAT ENDING! I had so much fun reading this!

I have to admit, I couldn't really care for any of the male characters in this book. The women held this entire story up. The female friendships and strength was out of this world. I loved Celine, Pippa and Odette with my entire heart. There was so much love between Celine and Pippa, and I truly believe those girls would do absolutely anything for each other. And I adored Odette. So much.

The diversity in this story was so well done. Each character was so different from each other and came from different ethnic backgrounds and nationalities, as well as sexualities and attitudes. It was WONDERFUL. Not once did I feel like it was forced diversity for 'woke points'. It was natural and good.

The setting was another thing I really loved. I've always been fascinated with New Orleans. From what I've learnt about it, it seems like I place I would adore if given the chance to visit. Getting to experience New Orleans through these characters was great and I loved the assimilation of all the different cultures of our characters into the city.

I'm really excited to get my hands on the sequel (though I'm literally terrified reading the mixed reviews it's received...)!
