It took me a little while to get into this one. I found the writing style a bit jarring at first and it felt a bit slow to begin with. However, I'm glad I persevered as I did start to enjoy it before long and really warmed to the main characters (and some of the secondary characters). It's a fun, lighthearted murder mystery with a couple of plot lines that keep you guessing all the way through. A few red herrings are thrown in for good measure. It feels very cosy, like it belongs on daytime TV and much of its charm comes from the four elderly main characters, who each have distinct personalities. An enjoyable read, I think I'd pick up more in the series.
