Hunger by Michael Grant

3.0

Three and a half stars, almost four, but closer to three.

If you're reading this review I'm going to assume you've read "Gone".

I said in my review of the first book that I was not a big fan of anything to do with Coates Academy. This is still the case, I just can't seem to get on board with that aspect of the story. But that's beside the point.

I understand when you have aliens, kids with superpowers, generations disappearing, and so on, that you can't expect the most realistic things in storytelling, however, there are major aspects of this installment that were just...so far out of reach that it made it hard to read
Spoiler like the pages and pages of Caine and Sam arguing, Caine and Drake arguing, Drake and...everyone, or Diana cross-dressing for little reason, the ridiculous things surrounding Little Pete, the concept of Mary's eating disorder, and so many more.

All of these things combine to force you to step back from the book to get your head back into the important things.
