Of the three books in the trilogy, this felt the strongest in plot and purpose. While still fairly similar in formula to the last two, it did culminate in a satisfactory way. I’m also giving it an extra half star for how it kept describing beignets. But for real, the descriptions of New Orleans in this book and Edinburgh and Paris in the other were one of the best parts of the book.
