The Duke and I by Julia Quinn

5.0

Book #45 read in 2022

I committed the cardinal sin. I watched the Netflix series before I read this book. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the show so much that I’ve watched it more than once. But the book is extraordinary. I love the way Rosalyn Landor brings the characters to life. There are so many great family moments that we miss in the show because of the focus on Daphne and Simon. The Bridgertons are family goals!

I loved hearing Daphne and Simon’s story in this way, (It didn’t hurt that I had a picture of Rege-Jean Page in my mind while listening). I love that the book hints at Lady Whistledown’s identity but doesn’t share it yet. Something that the show spoils for us.

I’ve decided that I will read before viewing for the rest of the series run. I want to experience the words written by Julia Quinn in their original form!
