Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

Did not finish book. Stopped at 22%.
this book wasn't required reading or anything of the sort for me, but having heard a lot about the huxley vs orwell debate, i wanted to get a taste of the future that huxley envisioned. i read this book online, and reading past the sentence structure of chapter 3 (i believe) was simply an impossible accomplishment for me - i didn't have the willpower. in addition, everything science-y flew over my head, so perhaps sci-fi is just not the genre best suited to me. i was consistently confused from the first chapter about the workings of the world huxley had written, and about the characters that were being introduced at a rapid pace. reading a comic strip on huxley vs orwell helped me understand why many say our current society matches up closest with huxley's more than actually reading brave new world itself. i may still try to reread sometime in the future, what with the amount of people who consider this a worthwhile read.
