Fun and sweet with a romance that follows typical patterns while avoiding shallow characters, pornographic descriptions, plot armor, and overly dramatic twists (despite the story's backdrop of US and international politics). This is also one of the funniest books I have read in quite some time. It reminds me of Tamsyn Muir's Locked Tomb series without the magic and space opera.
