This book feels like peak YA contemporary, and I LOVED it. It was a sports romance, focusing on baseball specifically, and as a newly established baseball fan, I was so here for it. All the references were easy to understand, and I liked that Cross used real baseball teams. Annie and Jason's relationship was great to watch, and I liked that they were figuring things out as they went. Annie's relationship with her dad was really nice, too. This was fun, heartfelt and easy to breeze through. There were some heavier moments that Cross handled with care, but I think it was balanced well. The love story was super fun, and I loved reading this book! I would read more from Cross, for sure!
