The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman

dark emotional informative reflective sad fast-paced

4.5

A very personal take on a well known dark time. Reading the recollections of Spiegleman’s father gave a new take on what living as a Jewish person during the holocaust was like. Adding in the drawings, it reminds us that these were people living normal lives and then trying to return to some form of safety/normalcy during everything. Even if you feel like you have a decent grasp on what life was like I feel like this is a good read since it reminds you that these were people and like Spiegleman’s father, they aren’t and were never perfect they just wanted to survive.
