I'm not gonna beat around the bush with this review, we all picked up this book for the same reason and it delivered it well.

Besides the smutty scenes (which were the best part in my opinion) the author does a good job of painting a creepy backdrop for the story. A dark academic romance that sucked me in pretty quickly.

Was the writing style good? It was alright. Some parts of it reminded me of a wattpad story, but for the most part I was interested and captivated.

Was there character development? Yeah actually, Corvina does a lot of growing and it was nice to watch.

Was the plot line good? Good is a relative term. I thought the story was interesting enough that I was eager to know more and wanted to see how it all came together in the end. I think that the author did a good job with wrapping everything up together BUT there were several plot points that do not get explained and Corvina even acknowledges that in the end.

One thing I will say is that this book depicts a character with schizophrenia and also our main character questioning if she also has it because of her ability to hear voices and see visual hallucinations sometimes. I do not have schizophrenia so I cannot say whether or not this was harmful representation, so please be mindful of that if you choose to read this!
