Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

4.0

Well, Anne Shirley is certainly one of the most delightful heroines I’ve come across recently. Somehow I missed this story - the whole series in fact - when I was growing up. I don’t know how that happened but I’m glad I took time now.

This easygoing story is set shortly after the turn of the 20th century on Prince Edward Island, Canada. When Anne mistakenly ends up at Green Gables with the Cuthberts, she is a fish out of water. She’s sassy and imaginative and completely her own person. She is not perfect but has an endearing quality that wins her the love and devotion of friends as well as Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert.

In a reading slump? Pick up Anne of Green Gables. Need something on the lighter side? Pick up Anne of Green Gables. Want a character you can root for? Anne of Green Gables is for you. It will be well worth your time!
