Savage Lover by Sophie Lark

4.0

Once again- ignore the cover model :( Another over 4 star read and I have to say I appreciate the unique stories in this series. Of course, there are some similarities but each one really seems to have its own personality without feeling cookie cutter.

The graphic art by the author is a really nice touch. I love cars so this was a home run for me! Nero is just the anti-hero I needed and I liked seeing Camille willing to go dark with him rather than having him change to be clean and nice. I guess that is a theme, these men are dark and dangerous and each woman is making the choice to go dark with them instead of trying to change them. Even Nessa.

They had a little bit of history that set the foundation for their relationship which HAD to be unique because- Nero.

This felt organic, the attraction and respect between them building into love AS THEY PLAN A HEIST. Shakes head. Well, it worked. I just did not like the dirty cop angle, him forcing Camille to sell Molly and be an informant. The Molly ingestion scene was classic and totally broke the walls down between them.

I love the Family dynamic as well, both Seb and Dante give Nero shit but ultimately they all have a deep loyalty.
During the break-in:
“Cut it a little smaller why don’t you,” Seb grunts.
“I forgot I had Groot coming after me,” I say.
